How to make your Overnight Oats
The longer you let your oats soak the thicker they will become. We recommend soaking your oats for AT LEAST 2 hours, however, soaking overnight or for up to 12 hours produces optimum creaminess.
The best way to store overnight oats is in a glass container in the refrigerator. You can use glass meal-prep containers, a large glass pyrex bowl, or 16 oz. mason jars. If you make your overnight oats in a mason jar you can soak them, and then eat them all in the same container. Storing them in single-serve containers like mason jars is also a great way to portion control, too!
In the morning:
Overnight oats can be eaten hot or cold. To heat, microwave for 45-60 seconds (just ensure there’s enough space at the top of your jar to prevent overflowing), or transfer to a saucepan and heat over medium heat until warmed through.
Are your oats too thick? Add more milk and stir to thin things out.
Are your oats too thin? Add more of the oat mix, let sit for at least 30 mins. Or heat them in a saucepan as this will help to thicken them.
Add even more variety to your Overnight Oats with these tips:
~ Add ripe peaches or berry compote to Creamy Coconut Oats.
~ Use coconut yoghurt for that extra coconut taste
~ Add Peanut butter to your Honey Banana or Maple Vanilla oats.
~ Top with greek yoghurt for tangy contrast to extra creamy oats, or add it to your oats before soaking.
~ Add extra dried fruits – cranberries are great with the Goji Vanilla flavour.
~ Add fresh fruits such as apple, banana or berries.
~ Use orange juice instead of milk to soak your oats.
Are Kialla's Overnight Oats Gluten-free?
This is somewhat controversial as no oats can be certified gluten-free in Australia.
Any Oats may be troublesome for those with gluten sensitivities and celiac disease.
