Casey在西达令平原的多尔比镇附近与人合作耕种100公顷农场。

这个地区富饶的黑色冲积土是“碱性重粘土”。这种土壤能够保持湿润,能种出一些澳大利亚最好的谷物。

作为合作农夫,Casey不在农场住,而是“通勤”来这里工作。合作农夫向业主支付一部分出售作物所得的利润。对于自己没有农场的年轻人而言,这是一个很好的开始耕种的方式,同时也能帮助一些年纪较大的农场主来减少工作负荷。

Casey为Kialla种植小麦和高粱。这些作物在五月前后栽种,取决于之前有多少雨水。十月或十一月当气候把作物变干之后就可以收割了。
