Located near Hamilton in south-west Victoria, the farm that provides our linseed (also known as flaxseed) is situated in prime farming land. This is due to both soil quality and the fact that rainfall is usually plentiful in the area. Both these factors, plus the farmers’ meticulous approach, ensure high quality crops.
Their farming philosophy begins with the promotion of healthy soils for healthy crop yields, and nutritionally optimised products. Back in 1998 Mike & Bronnie identified the value of growing organically and began dedicating the farm to the often arduous demands of sustaining an organic farm.
They are certified through NASAA Certified Organic accreditation. This means their organic linseed is the very best it can be in terms of taste, texture and nutritional value – while being free of any chemical residue.
Three years of intensive preparation, and then ongoing enrichment, ensures certified organic soil that is rich in all-important ‘organic matter’ while also being free from chemical residue. Chemical free means no synthetic pesticides, no synthetic fertilisers, and no toxic weed killers.
